Is the 3,000-Mile Oil Change a Myth?
Several years ago, it was recommended that oil for vehicles be changed every 3,000 miles, but that recommendation is quickly being discarded.
Due to changes in engine manufacturing, materials used, and new synthetic oils, you do not have to change oil as often. The current recommendations, depending on vehicle manufacturer, can be 7,500 to 10,000 miles.
